Innovation Guelph, Haltech, Innovate Niagara, WEtech Alliance, Innovation Factory and TechAlliance of Southwestern Ontario delivery of i.d.e.a. Fund in southern Ontario
On April 29, Haltech, Innovate Niagara, WEtech Alliance, Innovation Factory and TechAlliance of Southwestern Ontario announced a partnership with Innovation Guelph to deliver the Government of Canada supported i.d.e.a. Fund in southern Ontario. The Fund is a southwestern Ontario-focused initiative to accelerate the growth of high-potential clean growth small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in key sectors linked to the green economy, including agri-innovation, clean tech and advanced manufacturing.
To support the delivery of the Fund, Innovation Guelph received a non-repayable Government of Canada investment of almost $10 million through the Jobs and Growth Fund delivered by the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario).
The Fund will leverage the southwestern Regional Innovation Centre (RIC) network of Haltech, Innovate Niagara, Innovation Factory, TechAlliance and WEtech Alliance to provide essential resources like the mentoring and early-stage financing necessary for SMEs to scale-up, create quality jobs for Canadians, and drive green and resilient economic growth across the region.
Eligible SMEs in southern Ontario will be able to apply and, if selected, will be provided with advisory services and non-repayable contributions of up to $30,000, giving them the working capital needed to support commercialization efforts and growth.

Fund appuyée par le gouvernement du Canada dans du sud Ontario. Le Fonds est une initiative axée sur le sud-ouest de l’Ontario visant à accélérer la croissance des petites et moyennes entreprises (PME) à fort potentiel de croissance propre dans des secteurs clés liés à une économie verte, notamment l’agro-innovation, les technologies propres et la fabrication de pointe.
Afin d’appuyer la mise en œuvre du Fonds, Innovation Guelph a reçu un investissement non remboursable du gouvernement du Canada de près de 10 millions de dollars dans le cadre du Fonds pour l’emploi et la croissance dont la prestation est assurée par l’Agence fédérale de développement économique pour le Sud de l’Ontario (FedDev Ontario)
Le Fonds s’appuiera sur le réseau de centres d’innovation régionaux (CIR) du sud-ouest formé par Haltech, Innovate Niagara, Innovation Factory, TechAlliance et WEtech Alliance afin de fournir des ressources essentielles comme du mentorat et un financement de démarrage nécessaires pour favoriser l’accroissement d’échelle des PME, pour créer des emplois de qualité pour les Canadiens et pour stimuler une croissance économique verte et résiliente dans toute la région.
Les PME admissibles de du sud Ontario pourront présenter une demande et, si elles sont sélectionnées, bénéficieront de services consultatifs et de contributions non remboursables pouvant atteindre 30 000 $, ce qui leur donnera les fonds de roulement nécessaires pour soutenir les efforts de commercialisation et la croissance.
